BIG KUDO'S AND THANK YOU'S to Mark Spurgeon for pulling off a fantastic EPIC Trail Building weekend this past weekend in Buffalo Creek.
Mark Spurgeon, with the help of his wife Judy, and others on the Trail Blazers committee, did an outstanding / incredible job with the Epic this year.
Mark puts an incredible amount of time and energy and passion into this event - it is unfathomable - and he did one great job.
I never saw him sit still all weekend, he was constantly on the go making sure that everyone was happy and had what they needed - it was all about everyone else there. I do not think he even had time for a camp-shower / wipe-down, (and he was dirty !), much less time to hop on a bike like the rest of us happily did.
There was great food, great vendors, lots of swag, an awesome/fun band, great people, and plenty of beer, and soo much more.
Oh yea, it was also a very good day of trail building, and I think fun was had by all. The Trail Crew Leaders were knowledgeable, fun, and made sure that we were enjoying our "volunteer" efforts. We all happily worked very hard out there, and it was warm, but I did not hear one complaint about it, and I think we all walked away from it saying it was a very enriching, "feel-good", fun day of making a new trail.
I personally want to thank Mark for all the effort he puts into this event.
I look forward to many more EPIC events to come in the coming years.
Thank you Mark !
