Meet-up
Meet-up Location and Directions:
For all ride options meet at 11:30 for 12:00 noon ride time. All 3 ride options start at the Rooney Road parking lot on the west side of Hayden Green Mountain Park. Mike’s Loop: This ride starts at the Rooney Rd parking lot and goes into the Green Mountain trail; it crosses Jewell Ave and continues on paved trails into Bear Creek Lake Park. We will ride 8-10 miles in Bear Creek Park and then ride through Morrison to the single tracks in Red Rocks Park. From there we continue to Matthews/Winters Park open space and then climb to the top of Dakota Ridge to the Zorro Trail and back to Rooney Rd. The total length is 20-25 miles depending on the trails that we select. Mike’s Loop alternative (for those not wanting to ride all of Mike’s Loop): Follow the above route, but do the ride as an out and back for fewer miles. There are several locations along the route where you can return to your car and reduce the distance. Green Mountain out and back: This ride starts at the Rooney Rd parking lot and traverses the south side of Green Mountain trail to the Alameda parking lot and returns; side trails can also be taken. The total length is less than 10 miles. We can explain this route and see it on the map but there may not be an official ride leader for this option. Year end MTB party (appetizers, dinner, beverages, dessert) will follow at a separate location at 4:00 p.m. The party will be held rain or shine. Dinner will be served at 5:30. Bring CD photos/videos of your favorite 2010 MTB trips and also warm clothes if you plan on sharing tall tales around the outside fireplace. For questions about the rides and to get location and directions to the party, contact Jerry (jerry@teamevergreen.org or 303-915-5395). To volunteer your help during the party, contact Nancy (nespencer@mindspring.com or 303-912-0858).
