The Triple Bypass is a ride from Evergreen to Avon over three mountain passes. 120 miles from Evergreen to Avon over Squaw (11,140 ft.), Loveland (11,990 ft.), Swan Mountain and Vail (10,560 ft.) passes, with over 10,000 ft. of lung-busting gain in elevation!

GPS Route File/Instructions:
Team Evergreen has created a GPS file (Beta Test File) for the Triple Bypass which includes waypoints for turns, aid stations, towns, ect., and a track log (data points every 1/8 mile) for the route. To download the GPS route file, simply right mouse click on the GPS Route File link below, select "Save Target As", then in the "Save As" dialog box select "All Files" as the save as type, type TripleBypass.gpx as the file name, and save the file on your computer desktop or in a file folder of your choice. You can transfer the waypoints and track log to your Garmin GPS using the Garmin MapSource software. *Note: Track log data can be transferred to the Garmin Edge models using the MapSource software, although track logs cannot be transferred from the Edge to MapSource. You can also use other manufacturers GPS units and software to transfer the GPS data, as the .gpx file is a common file format.
Users can create an auto route in the MapSource software between the Start and Georgetown, Silver Plume and Summit County High School, and East Vail to West Vail using the included waypoints. Bike paths along the route preclude the MapSource software from creating an auto route for the entire ride. A direct route can be created for the entire ride, but the route line connects the waypoints (point to point) versus having the route line follow the road as created by the auto route option. I suggest transferring the track log and waypoints to the GPS unit, and just select the option to show the track log on the map screen. The waypoints will also show on the map screen, and one can verify they're on course from the visual presentation on the GPS screen. Recommend GPS screen magnification is between 500 ft and .3 miles.
**Note: The track log is actual data from the 2009 ride. Waypoints should be accurate, but have not been field verified. The route is extremely well signed and marshalled. The beta GPS file data is a "fun" experiment for 2010, and data will be verified on this years ride for future years.

Five aid stations are strategically located along the route — all with appropriate cycling food, energy drinks, portable toilets and plenty of water. SAG SUPPORT:
Friendship Bridge serves as Team Evergreen SAG volunteers. Each will be prepared to transport you and your bicycle to the next aid station. Look for the green Team Evergreen SAG magnetic signs on their vehicles.
PRIVATE SAGS:
To ensure an optimal experience for all, Team Evergreen has banned all private SAGs on Highways 103 (Squaw Pass) to Echo Lake, and Highway 6 / Loveland Pass. Swan Mountain Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from Highway 6 to Highway 9. In addition, TE requests that private SAGs park in designated locations at all aid stations and to stay off the rest of the route to the greatest extent possible. If you want to cheer on riders, the best places to do so are in Idaho Springs and Loveland Aid Stations. Please refer to the TE website for Alternate Driving Instructions for private support vehicles.
FINISH LINE:
The finish line is at Avon Elementary School in Avon, located off I-70 Exit 167. Parking for the Finish line festivities is located at the Beaver Creek lots. Drive south on Avon Road and proceed to the last roundabout. Exit right off the roundabout to Hwy 6 (west) and take the second left into the Beaver Creek East lots. The express shuttle runs every 10 minutes and will go to the finish line.
