Meet-up
Meet-up Location and Directions:
To trailhead: Take Highway 285 west to the town of Pine Junction, where it intersects with CO-126, take left on Hwy 126 to Buffalo Creek, take a right on CR 543, park in lot just to the left. There is a Team Evergreen sponsored Porta-Potty in the parking lot.
Departure:
Ride will depart promptly at 10:00am. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in and get ready to ride.
Cancellation:
Rides will be canceled when temperatures are below 40 degrees and/or trail conditions are obviously too wet. If you have any questions concerning the route, please contact the ride leader. When conditions are questionable, email the Ride Leader with your email address so that you can be notified if the ride is cancelled. Check back here at 8am ride morning.
Helmets:
Helmets are required on all Team Evergreen Bicycle Club rides.

Starting at the parking lot at Hwy 126 and CR 543, we will do a slow warm-up by riding CR543 to the botton of Gashouse.  We will ride a portion of the Bailey Hundo course, up the lower Gashouse singletrack to Miller and Buck, head north to Skipper Trail, then descend Charlies and Sandy Wash. Trail surface consists mainly of decomposed granite (think coarse sand or pea gravel) and some hardpack. Never mind the name - Sandy Wash is a must! (think roller coaster turns, ups and downs). Pack a post ride libation, lunch afterwards TBD.  Additional riding on the Hundo course is a possibility after the ride, heading east on the CT to the river and back 12 miles on the road.

Weather forecast for Saturday:

Partly sunny. Slight chance of rain and snow showers in the morning...then a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 49 to 59. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.

The trails hold moisture well in Buff Creek. Bring gloves and warm clothes.

As of 8am Saturday morning - the ride is a go.
