Meet-up Location and Directions:
From Denver/Golden, drive NW on 119 through Black Hawk and Rollinsville, to Nederland. NOTE: We are NOT meeting at West Magnolia trailhead but you will pass it along the way; Nederland is another 5 miles south. If coming from 93/36, drive into Boulder and go west on Canyon Blvd 12 miles to Nederland. Go around the roundabout and turn left into the large parking lot at the caboose/grocery store.
Departure:
All rides will depart promptly at the time noted in each of the ride descriptions. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in and get ready to ride.
Cancellation:
Rides will be canceled when temperatures are below 40 degrees and/or trail conditions are obviously too wet. When conditions are questionable, call the Ride Leader for a last-minute check. If you have any questions concerning the route, please contact the ride leader.
Helmets:
Helmets are required on all Team Evergreen Bicycle Club rides.
This is fun backcountry-style ride. Level of difficulty is easy to moderate/medium blue, increasing as we approach the top. The ride begins at the caboose parking lot, about 1 mile on neighborhood roads to Nederland High School/West Magnolia trailhead.  The trails are well-maintained, rolling singletrack in a loop that intersects county and FS roads along the way. This ride can be as slow or fast you want it to be. The trails are tight, fast and fun.
Trails include Sugar Magnolia, Pungy Stick, Aspen Alley and others as we travel east and then south to the re-routed Root Canal, now called ReRoot (a tight, curvy singletrack with small jumps), and the famous Hobbit trails. After crossing FS 355, we'll leave the official West Magnolia trail system and climb up the School Bus trail to the historic Champion Mine, ascending private property as we make our way up to the base of the Tennessee Mountain Hut (part of Eldora Mountain Ski Resort).
We'll descend the way we came, and when back at the 355 intersection, we'll proceed north and east on Hobbit 3 as we make our way back to the West Mag trailhead at the high school.
Lunch will be in Nederland. Savory Cafe is a local favorite!
