Take I-70 to Copper Mtn. (Exit 195) and meet in the Copper Mtn. parking lot on the east side of the complex >Lunch 1:30-2:30: Copper Mtn * "Sunday's Copper Triangle Road Ride with Carmichael Training Systems Coach Winston Sauber. Winston will discuss endurance nutrition and hydration strategies, and entertain your training questions. Winston will also join the Copper Triangle Club ride. Meet at 8:20 for Winston's presentation @ 8:30
Departure: 
Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in and prepare to ride. This ride will depart @ 9:00 am sharp. If you would like to hear Winston Sauber of CTS speak, please arrive at the starting area 40 minutes earlier.
Cancellation: 
Rides will be cancelled when temperatures are below 40 degrees and/or trail conditions are obviously too snowy or wet. If you have any questions concerning the route or road conditions, please contact the Ride Leader.
Helmets: 
Helmets are required on all Team Evergreen rides.

Difficult

Copper Triangle

This is a long ride that will require 5+ hours to complete. Take I-70 to Copper Mtn. (Exit 195) and meet in the Copper Mtn. parking lot on the east side of the complex for an 9:00 am departure.

Copper Mtn., Vail Pass, Vail, Minturn, Tennessee Pass, Leadville, Fremont Pass, Climax mine, back to Copper Mtn.

From the Copper Mtn. parking lot head west through the complex to the bike path. Follow the bike path west to the top of Vail Pass. Descend the bike path and the old highway to east Vail. At east Vail the old road turns into Bighorn Rd. Follow Bighorn Rd. two miles then turn right (south) and ride under I-70 to the north Frontage Rd. Follow the north Frontage Rd. west 1 mile and ride back under I-70 to the south Frontage Rd. Follow the south Frontage Rd. and bike path west through Vail and west Vail 7 miles to Dowds Junction (Minturn Exit). Turn left (southeast) on Highway 24 and ride 1.5 miles into Minturn. From Minturn ride south on Highway 24 30 miles over Tennessee Pass to Leadville. From Leadville turn left (northeast) onto Highway 91 and ride 11 miles to the top of Fremont Pass and the Climax mine. From the top of Fremont Pass descend on Highway 91 12 miles back to Copper Mtn.

Round trip: 81 miles 5,500 ft. elevation gain..

Meet at the parking lot for lunch (location TBD) between 1:30 & 2:30 pm
