Bergen Park to Echo Lake - Option: Mt. Evans
Meet at the Bergen Park Park and Ride for an 8:00 am departure. This is a classic ride if Mt. Evans is included. Plan 5+ hours for Mt. Evans. On most days you need to be on Mt. Evans by noon to avoid thunderstorms. There are toilets on Mt. Evans, but no water or refreshments. Be sure to stock up at the Echo Lake Lodge if you go for Mt. Evans.
Carmichael Traing Systems (CTS) will attend this ride and be available for training questions. Winston Sauber will give a talk, provide advice and GU products for everyone who arrives early (7:15am).
Bergen Park to Squaw Pass, Juniper Pass, and Echo Lake via Colo. 103. Return the same. Option: Highway 5 to Mt. Evans
From Bergen Park take Highway 74 south ¾ mile to Colo. 103. Turn right (west) on Colo. 103 and ride 15 miles to Juniper Pass. Descend from Juniper Pass 3 miles to the Echo Lake Lodge. The Lodge has refreshments or lunch. Retrace the same route back to Bergen Park. Option: From the Echo Lake Lodge take Highway 5 15 miles to the Mt. Evans parking lot. Retrace the same route back to Bergen Park.
Round trip: 36 miles 3,900 ft. elevation gain. w/Option: 66 miles 7,300 ft. elevation gain.
