GPS Route File Download Instructions
Team Evergreen has created a GPS file for the 2013 Triple Bypass (1 GPX file for each day) which includes waypoints for turns, aid stations, towns, etc., and a "Bread Crumb" (approximately 500 track points) for the route. To download the GPS route file, simply click on the file link, then File > "Save As" and save the file as a *.gpx file on your computer desktop or in a file folder of your choice. **Do not be concerned about the Html language that appears when you click on the File Link. You can transfer the waypoints and track log to your Garmin GPS using the Garmin MapSource or free Base Camp software. As the "Bread Crumb" has +/- 500 track points, it not recommended to "navigate" the Bread Crumb. Simply view the Bread Crumb on your GPS display to verify on course navigation. You can navigate to any of the additional individual waypoints in the file. *Note: Track log data can be transferred to the Garmin Edge models using the MapSource software, although track logs cannot be transferred from the Edge to MapSource. You can also use other manufacturers GPS units and software to transfer the GPS data, as the .gpx file is a common file format. If a *.tcx file is desired to create a "course" for the Garmin Edge models, users can download the free version of "Topo Fusion" (www.topofusion.com) and convert the *.gpx files to *.tcx files. In Garmin Training Center import the tcx file as a history file, then create a course file from the history.
Users can create an auto route in the MapSource software between the Start and Georgetown, Silver Plume and Summit County High School, and East Vail to West Vail using the included waypoints. Bike paths along the route preclude the MapSource software from creating an auto route for the entire ride. A direct route can be created for the entire ride, but the route line connects the waypoints (point to point) versus having the route line follow the road as created by the auto route option. I suggest transferring the track log and waypoints to the GPS unit, and just select the option to show the track log on the map screen. The waypoints will also show on the map screen, and one can verify they're on course from the visual presentation on the GPS screen. Recommend GPS screen magnification is between 500 ft and .3 miles.
Please note: The track log is actual data from the 2009 ride and incorporates route changes for 2013. Waypoints should be accurate, as tested on the 2010 Triple Bypass. The route is well signed and marshalled.

Georgetown to Silver Plume Path: Approximately 100ft of this trail has been impacted by a washout. As a result, the width of the paved trail has been reduced and a barrier fence has been installed. County officials have taken measures to level and harden the soil next to this small section of path to effectively widen the path. This extension to the path WILL NOT BE PAVED. Be aware of surface changes! PROCEED SINGLE FILE AND WITH CAUTION IN THIS AREA.
Frisco- Intersection of Temple Trail and Miner’s Rd: Competitors in the Gravity Games will be crossing Temple Trail (TBP Route) where it intersects with Miner’s Rd mid-morning on Saturday. Please be aware of the possibility of cross-traffic in this area.
